Research and Planning - Toy Story Film Poster Analysis

This film poster infers that the Toy Story characters are faced with something terrifying as their facial expressions suggest this to the audience. The audience can imply that the character at the front is the protagonist. The way the other characters are hiding behind him could infer that he is powerful and has authority within the group. However, in contrast the audience could suggest that his body language proves that although he might have authority within the group he his scared and his venerable.
The title at the bottom stands out because of the bright colours used against the plain flooring. The poster in general is very colourful which can suggest to the audience that it is for children as the colours create a happy, vibrant, exciting pathos.
The unique selling point for this film is how the poster has included that this is toy story three, seeing as there have been two previous films with great success the audience can only infer that this one will be just as good and worth the watch. Having a large fan base within the toy story films can help it in the filming industry.
There are no quotes and very minimal information on the poster which can be good because it doesn't distract attention from the fictional characters. On the other hand could be a disadvantage in selling the film. Having no information included only means that the creators of the poster have expected people to have seen both toy story one and two. And therefore do not need to know any background information. However, it is always good to include producers, directors, and the actors who do the voice overs of the characters, to help the film do well in the industry.
